New Gym, New Routine, New Races.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here and I promise it’s for a good reason.
I ran the Women’s Half Marathon on November 20th and had a WONDERFUL time, it was pretty hot but a blast nonetheless.
Since running the half though, I went up to South Carolina for Thanksgiving to spend time with family and it was a great week.
I also tried my hand at running the hills they have up there. Living in Florida, you kind of become a hill weenie owing to the fact that we have none.
Also while I was up there I decided something I think is pretty important.
I want to run a marathon by this time next year.
I want to run another half by April.
I want to finish a full Ironman by the end of 2013.
Yeah, a full Ironman.
By 2013.
And just like that, my mindset about training had to completely shift.
So I did what anyone else would do in my position, I jumped ship from my gym at Anytime Fitness who I’ve been with for 2 years and went to a gym who had a better selection of activities, more trainers, A POOL, and more equipment. They also offer classes which I’m loving so far.
Spin class definitely kicked my butt. Hard.
But I’m finding myself writing down what I’m eating, watching what I put into my body, what I’m doing, how many reps I’m doing, and on and on.
I’m dedicated to this process and I think my training, body, and mind will soon reflect that.
I’m excited. 😀

I’m working on getting a writer’s club together at SPC for Spring 2012, and I’d love it if you would join us! If you’re interested, please contact me via email or my blog. I hope finals treated you well, and that you have a terrific new year!
